At the core of my producing philosophy is that story comes first in all areas of decision-making. I’m also passionate about creating an environment that enables exceptional creatives from every department to flourish. I have a strong commercial sensibility and a desire to champion regional voices throughout my career.
As well as my passion for low-budget filmmaking, I’m also open to being a smaller fish in a bigger pond on larger-scale productions. I have lots of experience in aiding the smooth-running of projects and shoots, and am keen to apply this to a range of different contexts - whether that's as an Associate Producer or a member of the production department.
Nerdy fun fact: An insurance company once complimented the thoroughness of my risk assessment!
The bulk of my producing work is done through my Welsh production company Melyn Pictures Ltd., along with fellow Company Director Aled Owen. The word ‘Melyn’ translates from Welsh as ‘Yellow’, as does the Italian ‘Giallo’.
This not only explains the sudden flourish of colour, but is also indicative of our desire to create a range of genre films with a distinct Welshness to them.
